Sip and Enjoy

COFFEE! I love coffee and I am going to share with you two of my favorite places to get coffee. I do work at a coffee shop but it is not one of the places I’m going to talk about. Some people say I’m addicted to coffee and let’s just say they are right since I MUST have 2+ cups everyday. I enjoy the smell of it brewing and the process that goes into the beans. I enjoy the small local coffee shops that have a story to tell.

This first one is called Durango Joes  732 E College Dr, Durango, CO 81301

Durango Joes is located in Durango, CO (hence the name). This coffee shop was opened in 2004 by a man named Joe and his wife. Durango locals who want to serve their community with the best tasting coffee in town. Durango Joes has coffee that is fresh everyday and roasted to perfection! Durango is a small town that in my eyes is very community based. I went to Fort Lewis College for a year and as a college student coffee is a life saver. I spent countless hours in Durango Joes sipping the best coffee and doing the worst homework. There are quite a few locations throughout Durango, but my favorite location is the one on College Drive because it’s close to my favorite diner. I can eat at CJ’s Diner and then walk down and get my favorite cup of coffee; the Legendary Mocha because I love caramel. I am also a sucker for their London Fog. If you’re a tea drinker and enjoy the taste of steamed milk but not the taste of espresso then this is the drink for you!

Durango Joes is also the place that I led my first small group talk about Jesus, very nerve racking but extremely rewarding. I shared with middle school kids from Wyldlife about Peter walking on water towards Jesus; faith in Jesus is scary sometimes but so important to hold onto. This coffee shop holds a special place in my heart and is my go to every time I am in Durango. I hope you have the time to stop in and buy a cup of coffee and enjoy the atmosphere.

Cabin Coffee Company (222 S Main St, Breckenridge, CO 80424) is much closer than Durango if you are coming from the Denver Metro area. This coffee shop is located in Breckenridge, CO. This town is one of the more popular tourist destinations for those wanting to experience a real mountain town close to Denver. I have grown up going to Breck and yes it has gotten busier over the years but it still is one of my favorite places; especially when I want to get away for a day. I take my pup, drive up there and enjoy the sunshine. There are tons of shops and restaurants to enjoy and of course my favorite shop is a coffee shop. Cabin Coffee Co. sits on Main st. and is very easy to find. The atmosphere at Cabin Coffee is fun and unique with its western look while sitting at the base of the mountains. This coffee shop is not local but is still a favorite because of the great taste and the friendly staff! With this coffee shop conveniently sitting on main you are able to people watch, enjoy the many festivals Breckenridge puts on, and lastly enjoy the sunshine. The last time I was at Cabin Coffee was when Breckenridge was doing their annual Oktoberfest, which is a blast to attend if you enjoy German beer or not.

My favorite drink from Cabin Coffee is the Palomino which is white coffee (very caffeinated) with steamed half and half and white chocolate. They have a large menu from food to drinks that will make your taste buds happy.

This picture is on their wall and as you can see this coffee shop has a positive and fun attitude about life, so why not drink and enjoy it?

This is coffee from Sweet Bloom coffee. I have only been there once so I do not have much to say about it, except that the lattes are made to perfection as you can see.

This was a very delicious cappuccino sprinkled with chocolate that I was sipping on in Italy.
As you can see I am a coffee lover and I am always up for trying new places so please share with me your favorite coffee shops! If there is coffee involved, count me in!

Sip and enjoy everyone!
